The Ohio Produce Growers & Marketers Association will host its Annual Summer Meeting at Burnham Orchards for a full day of networking, education, and behind-the-scenes tours of a diversified orchard operation.
Highlights of the day include:
• Welcome & Opening – Alexis will give an overview of the Burnham family orchard, recent growth, and future vision for Ohio specialty crop operations, agritourism, and value-added products.
• Packing House Technology Tour – Marikah and Joe will take look inside the packing facility and how artificial intelligence and modern automation are being integrated into the packing line to improve efficiency and fruit quality management.
• Retail Market Operations – Jenny and Alexis will discuss on market merchandising, fresh cider sales, and how the team determines what additional products to bring into the farm market to complement orchard-grown items.
• Bakery Program – Jonathan with share insight into Burnham Orchards’ bakery operations and how house-made baked goods support retail traffic and value-added sales.
• Hard Cider Production – Chad will give a behind-the-scenes look at Redhead Ciderhouse and the growth of value-added hard cider production.
• Fresh Cider Production – Joe will discuss fresh cider production and its continued role as a cornerstone of the orchard’s direct-to-consumer business.
• Industry Trade Show Vendor booths will be hosted inside the packing house, providing a weather-proof space for industry partners to showcase products and services.
